Midnight rang in the year of 2010 in complete silence. Oddly enough, being ever the insomniac, I slept through it like a newborn babe. I was awakened about 9:30AM, by one shrieking tot, and two dogs a~scufflin'. Not exactly what I had in mind for the "New Year".
January 1, 2010 might be a new year, but it's just another day to me. I didn't acquire this mind~set overnight, folks. Something or some things, have been slowly eating away at my convictions for years.
Historically, I set (unrealistic) resolutions that, when broken, were only minimally displeasing. This year, I am calling them PROMISES, in hopes that I will work laboriously to keep them. I'm making myself promises that can only better my life. Leaving fate to fools, I will work fervently, to attain these aspirations.
A few of my PROMISES for 2010:
1. Use patience. My patience has been worn extremely thin lately. I need breathing room. DAYUMIT.
2. Write more. I have an insatiable desire for writing. I have time to write, but it's not quiet enough. This atmosphere is killing my abilities.
3. Surround myself with additional POSITIVITY. I'm normally a very positive person, and would like to remain as such. I will be pushing all negativity out of my life. I won't name names, but YOU are my brick, and NOT my rock. There is a difference. Good luck finding whatever it is that you are searching for. I wish nothing but the best for you.
I have made many more promises to myself, and I intend to accomplish them.
WELCOME 2010. I am going to make you my bitch.
Happy New Year, everyone!
