I've been wanting to watch something for about a week now. I don't want to watch just one episode either. I want to watch the whole series, AND I don't want to be bothered while I'm doing it. Is it Star Wars or Star Trek?
Comparison of Star Trek and Star Wars:
STAR WARS was inspired by the Flash Gordon adventure serials of the 1940s and presents an elemental struggle between good and evil.
STAR TREK was conceived in the style of the TV western Wagon Train but adopted a more adult tone, providing an idealistic, utopian prospect of future human society.
Richard Ho, writing for The Harvard Crimson, states that the heroes of Star Wars such as Han Solo and Luke Skywalker have a swashbuckling style while the protagonists of Star Trek such as Captain Picard and Mr. Spock resolve their challenges with science and intellect.
The chronology of Star Wars is set in the far past; the franchise deals with fantasy elements more than with science fiction. Star Trek is set in the 22nd century and beyond, in the same galaxy as Earth, whereas Star Wars is set in "a galaxy far, far away" and has no known connection with Earth.
Leave a comment and let me know which YOU prefer, and take a guess at which one I like better. =)
